Maria Fidelis Catholic School FCJ

Latest updates for September 2021

Welcome back to the new term and thank you for your support with testing the children on their return. We found a small number of positive cases but please continue testing regularly at home. If your child shows any Covid symptoms, please keep them at home and go to your nearest walk-in centre for a PCR test. Contacts of positive cases are no longer required to self-isolate but will be tested on site instead and a follow up PCR test is needed. We hope these precautions will keep our students in school learning for the maximum time possible.

You will be aware of the government announcement this week regarding vaccinating secondary aged pupils. I must stress that this is an option being offered to parents and is a choice to be made with you and your child. We have been asked to organise the consent forms and provide a space for medical professionals to administer vaccines to those who wish to have them. Please discuss this with your son or daughter before making a decision.

Congratulations to all our sixth form students who celebrated excellent A Level results this year. Nearly half begin their studies at Russell Group universities following a range of courses including Medicine at UCL, Law at Durham, Neuroscience at Warwick, Maths at Lancaster and Data Science at Bristol. Thank you to all our amazing families for your support, it is much appreciated.

Kind regards

Covid Testing

Dear Parents and Carers,

Please can you remind your child to continue with twice weekly testing, with each test separated by at least 3 days; it is a good idea to stick to the routine of Wednesday and Sunday evenings.

Results should be uploaded onto the two following platforms:
If a positive result is returned on the home test then a PCR test should be arranged via the NHS and your child should remain at home until the result of that test is received. If this result is negative your child can return to School. If it is positive they should remain at home and the household should follow the government guidance on isolation. Please notify us of any positive results by contacting the school office on 020 7387 3856 or email office@mariafidelis.camden.sch.uk

Kind regards
