EASTER TERM 2021

You can access the school's prayers for justice from the slides here.

RACIAL JUSTICE SUNDAY.   This year’s Racial Justice Sunday is more important than ever. The effects of the Coronavirus pandemic, the killing of George Floyd, and the powerful message on fraternity and equality by Pope Francis in Fratelli Tutti speak of the need to actively oppose racism and pursue racial justice with renewed vigour. The theme is ‘A Time to Act’. Racial issues and inequalities were identified nationally and internationally in 2020 generating awareness, emotion and outrage. Action is needed to further the cause of racial justice but what can we do? Read reflection on the theme. There is also a message from Bishop Paul McAleenan, the Lead Bishop for Racial Justice

Let us pray together for harmony and unity between people of all races:

Good and gracious God, Who loves and delights in all people, we stand in awe before You, knowing that the spark of life within each person on earth is the spark of your divine life.

Differences among cultures and races are multicoloured manifestations of Your Light.

May our hearts and minds be open to celebrate similarities and differences among our sisters and brothers.  We place our hopes for racial harmony in our committed action and in Your presence in our neighbour.

May all peoples live in peace.
AMEN.

Oh Lord Jesus Christ,

We come before You today, we thank You for the gift of Your Holy Body and Blood through which we get strengthened body, soul and mind. We solemnly pledge that we will offer You our undivided love and also service to our brothers and sisters as it is Your Holy will.

We pray this in the Name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Amen.

You can access the Maria Fidelis prayer slides here.   You may like to use these either on your own or as a family to create a time of reflection each day. These resources may include a passage to be read or a story as a focus, and they will always end with a prayer.   In these difficult times, prayer is so important as a way of bringing hope and relief.

The Church is marking this year as the Year of the Word.  Reflections and prayers can be  found here

The Daily Examen is a fundamental part of the Jesuit and the FCJ life.  At the end of each day, you can spend a short period of time reflecting and getting closer to God during these difficult times.  Click here to access the Examen for young adults.
