End of Term March 2022

Dear Parents and Carers,

I am writing to remind you that the last day of the Spring Term for pupils is on Friday 1st April 2022.  Pupils will need to attend school as normal on this day and will need to wear full school uniform.  There will be an early closure and pupils in Year 7 and Year 8 will be dismissed from school at 1.15pm.  Pupils in Year  9, Year10, Year 11 and VI Form will be dismissed at 2.00pm.  We ask that you remind your son/daughter to make their way straight home and behave in an appropriate manner whilst doing so.  Any pupils found to be remaining in the local area will be brought back to school and dismissed at 5.00pm.  The Summer Term term will begin on Tuesday 19th April 2022 at the normal time of 8.30 for Year 7 and 8 and 8.45am for all other year groups.

Key dates for the coming term include:

  • Monday 2nd May – Spring Bank Holiday
  • Monday 30th May – Fri 3rd June – Half Term Holiday
  • Friday 8th July – Inset Day
  • Monday 4th July – Sports Day
  • Fri 15th July – Rewards Day
  • Monday 18th-Tuesday 19th July – Enrichment Days
  • Wednesday 20th July – End of Summer term for pupils

I would like to remind you that we expect our pupils to wear full school uniform as laid out in our Parents’ Handbook and school policies.  Please also remember the key points detailed below:

•         A small gold or silver stud earring may be worn in each ear (lobes only).

•         We expect hairstyles to be neat and tidy at all times without obvious hair colouring/dyes.

•         No false nails or nail varnish may be worn.

•         No facial piercings are allowed.

•         Kilts must be worn to the knee and not rolled at the waist

•         We expect school jumpers to be worn

•         Blazers are to be worn around the school but may be removed in classrooms

•         We expect hairstyles to be neat and tidy at all times without obvious hair colouring/dyes, with no   extremes of fashion, for example, designs/patterns shaved into the hair.  Hair must be worn above the collar.  Shaved heads are not allowed.

•         We expect ties and school jumpers to be worn

•         Blazers are to be worn around the school but may be removed in classrooms

Bags and coats must be plain black; handbags are not permitted in school. Outdoor coats must be plain black or dark blue.

Please note that any student dressed incorrectly will be asked to return home to change.  They will then be expected to return to school arriving at a reasonable time.

Please also ensure your child brings the correct equipment to school.  This includes pens, pencils, ruler, calculator, the school planner and a reading book.  Further subject specific equipment must also be brought in when they are attending that subject.  Failure to have correct equipment will result in a detention.

Please also note that the school rules apply on journeys to and from school and when pupils are in uniform representing the school in public.

I would like to thank you for your ongoing support and wish you all a happy and peaceful Easter holiday.

Kind regards,
Helen Gill

Covid Testing

Dear Parents and Carers,

Please can you remind your child to continue with twice weekly testing, with each test separated by at least 3 days; it is a good idea to stick to the routine of Wednesday and Sunday evenings.

Results should be uploaded onto the two following platforms:
If a positive result is returned on the home test then a PCR test should be arranged via the NHS and your child should remain at home until the result of that test is received. If this result is negative your child can return to School. If it is positive they should remain at home and the household should follow the government guidance on isolation. Please notify us of any positive results by contacting the school office on 020 7387 3856 or email
Kind regards

Helen Gill
